2008 Ducato: The yellow "lamp fault" warning light is permanently on and the message"check RH side light" appears on starting. The lights are working normally and there doesn't appear to be a problem. Any clues what I should be looking for ?
If this is the same CANBUS networked wiring system as used on Vauxhall/Opel vehicles, you may have a slightly faulty bulb. Only a small resistance difference will flag up the error. A slight dampness problem in the bulbholder could also throw this up!
A lot of members on another forum i'm on get the problem sometimes when sub standard cheap bulbs are fitted.
Replacing the bulb, for the cost of a sidelight bulb, may cure the problem.
Hi, the RH rear side light failed last weekend after a prolonged drive with lights on. It is a Motorhome with bespoke rear light clusters so I will have a look at the weekend. Perhaps the system is fairly clever in being able to identify failing lamps. Thanks for all your replies.
The fault was due to the lamp holder within the MH convertors Hella rear lampcluster becoming loose. Once everything was reseated correctly the original lamp worked and the warning light and message is no longer displayed. Thanks for all your help just wondered are the lamps checked as part of a back ground test in the start up process or does the warning lamp and message come up as a result of the lamps actually being switched on?
