Hi Folks

Had to take the Bravo in to AC as the windscreen washers had stopped working. AC told us that a loose pipe was the culprit but it would not be covered under warranty. If it had needed a replacement pipe it would have been.

So £30 to get a loose pipe connected has left me feeling a bit hard done by. Do you think there is any point in taking it up with FIAT or are we stuck with what the dealers told us?

Cheers for now

Jon

Was this the front washers? my wife's 2.0 M-jet has suffered the same problem, I looked underneath and the fluid leak is from the bottle area so either a pipe has split or come off. Booked it in.

pipe could have popped off because of ice blockage, dont think that would be covered

My 2.0Mjet did the same its a 2 min fix. Open the bonnet, pop off the right hand side of the bonnet lining there are about 3 clips that you squeeze together then you can peel the lining back to get access to the joint. Pop it back on and off you go, 2 mins from start to finish.

I suspect my nozels were blocked (on the car :D) and this popped off to which in fairness prevented the pump from trying to pump water nowhere.

Hi Cardinal - nope, with bonnet open and operating the washers, leakage is underneath the washer bottle to ground - bonnet and lining is dry. Looks like a wheel off/arch lining off job to get to the pump

Ok fair enough, my pipe problems must have been at the opposite end... ;)

one could argue that it was poor fitting in the fist place that caused it to come off - but as said probably ice expansion

If its a 2 min job I would have expected a bit of good will especially if you get it serviced there always

That was my thinking. Only had the car since August but this will guarantee that garage will not see the car for any servicing.

I know for sure if I had taken it my independent chap he probably would not have charged me as I always take my cars there. Only took it to AC as it was still in warranty and even though they have changed premises in Edinburgh, the attitude remains the same.

The mistake was using AC

Dalgleish in Galasheils or cowans in Elphinstone are quality dealers

If it's down to the cold weather freezing them up, just do what I do with my van. Stop at the side of the road and through snow over the windscreen.

If they weren't so far away I would go down that route. Nothing buy bad experiences at AC. I'll be taking the Abarth there as I signed up for a two service deal but after that I'll be using the same guy that I usually have service/repair the cars.

Actually, Elphinston isn't that far really and my friends Dad is a mech there. Bit of a bugger getting back home though after I've dropped off the car...do they do a pick up/drop off?
