Mk1 (147Hp) Or Mk2(155Hp) ?
As a proud first owner of a 98 Mk1 HGT, I would definitely recommend buying one. I've driven various cars but none of them feel like the HGT !
Well, it's not a bullet but it runs powerfully & over 3.500rpm you can do what ever you want...
A friend of mine has a 155 HGT(Mk2) & he insists on that mine sounds & runs better.
The sound section is true. The 155 HGT lost it's unique roaring engine sound (I am not talking about the exhaust sound!)
Also as I know the 155 HGT can NOT be chipped. So if you ever decide to upgrade your power via chip tuning or other steps 155 HGT will be limited with the factory specs. Most of the tuning shops search for the MK1 HGT's because of this limitation in Mk2 !
Yes, this car needs money like a chick... But every rose has it's thorn
Consumption is unbeliavable if you like the gas pedal flat ! But it is a reliable car.
Try the HGT once, believe me you'll never want to drive anything on her scale.
Feel & hear the engine.. It's worth this pleasure...
Cheers,
