Hello All,

I was wanting some advice from Stilo owners. I am looking to buy a new car and have seen a stilo. Its a 1.6 Activ estate look. The only thing that is putting me off is I have heard some bad things about the electrics.
Any advice you could give would be helpful

problems go from car to car. i've never had any with mine, and i know alot of others on here haven't. but then others have, so its luck of the draw.
just look out for the usual things if your going to buy it

stilos are sensitive with regards to voltage which is solved with a new battery so don't worry about beeping when starting the car. however this is a good bargining point when buying the car.

most people who moan about fiat electrics usually have never driven one or owned a 1970s one

I have had a 53 plate 1.6 active estate from new and have had no real problems and has only failed to start once (which was my fault)

evidence of frequent servicing is critical as stilos dont react well to crappy maintainance (and then they start slagging off the car)

What does this car say about you?
I can think outside the box.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
dont care really, probably afre small minded.

Would you buy this car again and why?
hell yes, but i would buy diesel and a three door. love the car, an alternative to the common golf, astra, focus drivers.... Yawn!

What are you likely to buy next?
I plan to keep the car till it goes.

hehehe, awsome shyster, you're da man! :slayer:

Thanks to everyone who replied. I have placed my order and will be picking up my car on Tuesday (can't wait). (y)

Not getting it while Wednesday now :(

Hope I am not on here asking for advicein the near future :)

Got a 3 month warrenty so I am hoping anything major comes to light then. Don't mind a bit of fiddling under the bonnet but when it computers that have packet up my wallet screams

In most cases an airbag light is the result of a dodgy connection from the OCS (Occupant classification sensor) in the passenger seat, this connector is under the pass. seat. I'm pretty sure there's a guide for this problem in the guides section (link in the top nav bar)

Or certain people taking out the steering wheel and putting their own in without airbag and cutting the wires. Not the best idea i ever had.
