how much did u cut that down by? that looks really good mate. i agree with you that those shape gear knobs are nice to change gear with but mine has all the wholes in it so you catch like dead skin in it and rip your skin which is nice, but its like a sea psonge and softens your skin lol. my left hand is like a babies buttom.lol.
i cut off about 2 inches i think, maybe a little less.
you should put a cable tie under the leather bit now boo so that it stay up around the gear knob and ya dont see the bar.,

it is cable tied, at the bottom, i like having the gaitor baggy round with bottom and the stick on show.
i agree beau, seeing as you have a solid gear knob, showing a bit of your stick is nice. where as mine does not look right as its a solid bar and a 'holey' gear knob. and its true it takes ages to warm up but once their warm they are nice to hold rather than some plastic one that cools down in seconds. plus after you do like you pedals and other things in silver and metal it all looks nice and blends in. i think the next thing is to do my hand brake. bit worried about this one as i dont know much about this and its quite important to have a hand brake that works ay. any one know much about these.
im not gonna bother with new pedals and hand brake, it looks a bit much imo, iv got a leather gaitor on my hand brake, see my first pic of the shortened gear knob ^ and i think it looks nice
well my friend has got a new golf and all the inside is silver and black and it looks so nice. i am aiming for that but with blue in it so it dont look like an ikea shop if you get me. i want to spray my dash black (as its grey at the mo) and then spray the parts like the air vents and that silver and the surrounding of the gear know silver and lay new black carpet as the bloke in motorworld said its easy if you get evrything out. so it give me some things to do in the summer. i also want to spray the door cards black.... not sure about this as it may go right or wrong, i mean i know it will need loads of coats and im willing to do that but will it go ok with a silver handle and bits.

what i want to know is do most aftermarket ones fit the car properly? for instance beau, is there any chance of the knob moving or twisting?
what i want is a nice small leather one, not gonna shorten it cos im thinking about my cars resale value
ive had a vauxhaull one on for ages, it feels nice but it twists.i was gonna make a thread about it but this thread will do nicely
my metal one had grub screws which hold it very tight.

hmm. so is the gear stick is round bar? that means anything with decent grub screws should be good... ?
Yeah the actual gear-stick is a rounded bar, my gearknob is held on with 3 grub screws and you couldnt shift it if ya tried.
if its like mine and you need to alter some thines then its easy. i used insulation tape around the stick and then wedged the knob on it and the used the grub screws and it wont even wiggle even if you stood above it yanking it!!!

that really nice, just not sure about the yellow tbh, does it match anything else like the seats or what colour is the car. why didnt you paint it all the same colour as your seats or just black? not saying its wrong or bad, just seen this done a few times and done under stand it. why is yellow so popular. is black and silver bad?
