Tuning Shoehorn a V6 in there?

I was thinking of a V6 for my racing Panda project but something smaller and rev happy.

The Mitsubishi FTO engine is tiny and 200bhp from the shelf. You can even have a fancy sequential gearbox as they are nearly all auto's and import only they're dirt cheap. They also rust like Fiats around the rear subframe so plenty in breakers yards across the land.

I remember a friend having one and not believing it was only 1.8

Mid mount the Alfa V6 like Renault did with the Clio using that vile PRV unit. Will need some interesting spaceframe work I expect

Indeed they did ford adapted it to 2.0 for the 1997-8 mondeo touring car

That said a v6 mondeo can be picked up for a couple of hundred quid these days

I have a alfa romeo 164 with 3000cc V6, and I tell you that the motor doesn't fit in a panda

Would if you put it in the back! At least one Cinq had the 2.5 V6.................

...as I said earlier the Panda I know of has a rear subframe made of X-1/9 bits and Hawk Stratos bobs. The 1.8 Mazda V6 is torqueless all noise and hardly any action.

Loads of Metros have 1.8 VVC engines. The Panda is roughly the same size?
