so what do i think

i think...............................
IM IN LOVE
the salemans was much nicer today, hed covered the car up in the showroom and then pulled back the cover [ i wasnt expecting that, just thought it be on the forecourt] and the effect of seeing it, the colour is so beautiful, ive taken some photos which i try and put up as soon as i can, although the colour in them doesn't match the real life colour

the seat is comfortable, i love the hight for getting in and out and for viewing the road, and the noise well she sounds like a lion purring.....bloody fantastic sound

road noise is quite a bit however, im use to that due to my last banger sorry car.

salesman set up blue and me, which seems brilliant. i even got a full tank of petrol.

i did notice that i had to get up to quite a speed to go up to 5th gear, around town it seems to prefer 4th, so that take some getting use to, love where the gear stick is.

i actually had to turn the heating off half way home as too hot....so i really dont think i have any need to take the hot water bottle with me like im currently doing with my current car lol

all my options are there, the only one that maybe might be a waste of money is the comfort kit. the tints are so stylish so are the leather steering wheel and gear stick. love how the back seat comes forward giving more room in the boot, parking sensor seems brilliant and the city brake apparently you should get a cheaper insurance with that [but we see if that happens] spare wheel is a must and glad ive gone for that.

so i will be keeping you guys informed [sorry if i bore you] but in my 50's and this is my first brand new car] im rather excited by it, and now i need to ensure i look after it the best i can so plesae bare with me with my questions that may seem silly to you guys but to a complete newbie who wants to look after her car maybe important

oh and the paint work feels like silk to touch

Can't wait for the pics, and so glad your salesman has extracted the digit and made the pick up pleasurable, things were looking a bit gloomy at one point.

Road noise might diminish a bit, my Cross seems to have quietened down a fair bit with a few miles on it though the all season tyres are never going to be as quiet as summer slicks.

Very intrigued as to the colour, the on-line configurator is a bit pants when it comes to giving an accurate impression of your chosen shade. Every new car I have owned has always been something of a surprise on pick up day as unless you have seen an example on the road you are really pretty clueless?

Glad you've finally got it safely. (y)

Lots of pics please!!

The configuration is really really duff for that colour. I've seen pictures elsewhere & I think it's very similar to my mk2 Panda Super - stunning therefore!! It's really a very good job that the Cross doesn't come in that colour as I really can't justify replacing the Abarth & losing a lot of money - I would like a Cross though.... :bang:

You will find the engine can hold much higher gears than you think. The gear change indicator (though useless for everything else) will show you that your ears & past experience are wrong - you can get into 5th stupidly low around town.

Hi

Glad to see a happy manta, with all the worries behind you!

What did u have your CLIMATE CONTROL set for?
Please try between 18¤c &20 and press auto, then forget about it.

Did you try the heated seats?

Whats does your hubby think of it? I bet inside he knows you've gone and done the correct thing, having a safe, new and good looking panda. You work hard and its about time you have a car that u dont hate. I knew that all the stress you were feeling would go away when you got her. Only good times ahead!

How can u say that about the comfort kit;) the sunglasses holder is a must when u have such a cool looking car!
The height adjustable seat belts might be worth it once you have played with them.

If and when u every sell your new love, please give me first refusal. I know your gonna have her for well over 10years! So by then I might get a bargain as good as yours.

Hurry up with the photos!!! Do u need help with them 2;)

Job done, Bundes

At your & good peoples service.

Mantababe..............oh tht explains it 23 was far too high lol i shall reduce it, trouble is im so use to driving a car that heating took ages to warm up so you had to have it on high from the start going take me a while to get use to having a car tht works

Did you try the heated seats?

mantababe................these are brilliant and cant belive how quickly they warm up

mantababe...........he really likes it and loves the colour, its still stressful as im so worried bout scratching it or rather someone else doing that esp keying it, the colour is so nice but it really stands out and i can see some idiot thinking it be real fun to ruin it, and unfort dover has more than his fair share of guys like that :(

mantababe...................my eye glasses are tints but having said that i do sometimes wear lenses so yes pair of sunglasses kept there would be handy

mantababe.........................well the bargain was due to your help, £4.90 interest, i couldnt have worked that out without you so i certainly owe you a drink, so many ppl have said to me...oh i wouldnt buy a new car it looses xxxx amount as soon as you drive it out of the showroom..............well seeing as i got £3250 off of the car [again due to your help] i think i can cope with loosing a bit on the drive away :worship::worship::worship:

mantababe....................a £15000+ car [with nearly all the options] for under £12000 not bad i dont think

Hurry up with the photos!!! Do u need help with them 2;)

mantababe...........................trouble with the photos the ones i took yesterday really dont show up the paint colour as it is, theyve come out blue but its mre of a green/blue so i really want you guys to see it as it is

Amazing!

Its colour is just like the kind of water that you dont need a wet suit to swim/dive in. Perfect for you!

Forget the drink, I just want the chance to buy SCUBA in 12to15 years time.

Please stop stressing about scratches etc. Enjoy it now, while its blemish free. Remember you are buying it, not ever handing it back!
A Panda Trekking is for Life, not just for the Winter;)

I have done 1555 in the Red Giant Panda Cross already.
(not got the G14NT No.Plate on Loki yet)
Its been up the Cairngorm Mountains.
As far North as Dingwall.
Its racking up the Football Grounds its visited. Eventually the tickets will take over the glove box but for now behind the sunvisor is fine.

Have you even bothered listening to the Radio in her? I haven't much, as i aint bored of listening to that wee 875 TwinAir rumble;)

We will be down your way over the years, so i will always look out for
The Most Tooled Up Trekking in All the Land. Thats you that is!

Enjoy:)

pointless in my opinion;)

all modern cars will NOT start/run without the correct chipped KEY,

fiat keys are around £350 for a reason..

expensive / desirable cars tend to get the handbrake cables cut,and towed away,:(

but no great issues with our little racers:D

the one insurance I WOULD recommend is "GAP"..,:worship:

where by if the car is damaged beyond repair in the 1st 12 months, you'll get a NEW replacement, not just it's market value..,
cover can be @£30..,(y)

I hope that helps,
Charlie

Ditto on the GAP insurance.
I paid through the nose at the dealers for mine because I didn't know better, but I'm still happy having it.
If writen off any time in the next 3 years, my Trekking is worh £3750 more than I actualy paid for it ( GAP also covers the privilege discount )
It sounded to good not to take, so I did :)

Where did you get your gap cover from?

Where did you get your gap cover from?
It's a nice idea about the keys but Monday night I had a ford ranger crew cab 14 plate with 3000 miles on clock stolen with a tracker fitted that said it hadn't moved from me arriving home a 21.00h police think it's a targeted attack scanning the fob on the remote locking then haypresto do what they want with them
