when wiring my 6x9's into the back of my HU are there set places for the wires eg. front speakers at top or anything like that?

also what would be the easiest way to get my HU out or will the wiring be able to be done with theHU still in place?

Depends charlie, is it wired in with an ISO connector or did you have to wire it in manually? And not sure on the right wires for the rear - take a look in your HU's manual and it should tell you to the colour of the wires for the rear speakers.

and iceman - you can get 6x9's with telescopic tweeters to position them in the place you want to. And the acoustic placement isnt a huge problem there as they tend to reflect off the window rather than penetrate like the bass does. In short basic terms, they're coaxials that cover a wider range of frequencies. Nothing more, nothing less. Just components fail to cover the same frequency ranges at the same price. Should money be not an issue then i may present a different argument...

the HU was wired in for me as i gt it as a suprise prezzie thts ther reason i was asking.

would it work if i just trail the wires for my 13cm's to the HU n then just replace threm with new wires?

If the 13 cms are the speakers that are in the rear then that should be fine.

yeah they are in the rear, i wanted to re-wire them with a better speaker wire being as im having newer, more powerful speakers. plus it would provide better sound quality in the long run, correct?

In most cases yes, but it wont make great amounts of difference in your case becuase your headunit is more likely to distort the quality before the cabling will... But worth doing none the less

the wires not neccesarily (sp?) better but is what came with my new speakers. the other reason for rewiring is tht the wiring at the moment isnt reallt too good lol so i plan on hiding it a bit more under the carpet or something
