General Service parts list.

Just putting together a list of parts to service my new cinq.This is what i have to far,if any of these parts can be replaced with a better/upgraded part then if the price is right,id rather upgrade them.

Spark plugs-NGK BCPR6ES
Leads-oek019
Oil filter-all the same?aslong as its for a cinq?
Oil-mobil super 2000 xl 10w/40 5 litres.
Coolant-halfords own?Or just whatevers cheapest.5 litres.

Think thats it for now.

Fuel filter
Air filter ?
Brake fluids flush ? (if it looks clean now do it later)

Cars got a focus induction on so air filter isnt needed(might clean and oil the filter thats on).Brakes seem strong and progressive so ill leave those until last.Didnt think about the fuel filter thanks for that.

Any point in getting uprated plugs and leads?If so what would you recommend?I hear the magnecor kv85s are good.

Youwon't get any more performance out of magnecor leads, but they do last longer.

have a look at the gearbox oil. wont take you five minutes

I noticed the premix is the same cost as the concentrate so ill go for the concentrate.

If i get 5 litres,i assume itll do me for a top up for now,then a full flush and refill when the weather lets off?

im sure the full system fill is only 4.5 liters or their about. so if you get concentrate at 50/50 mix you will have 10 liters of coolant to the correct grade..... by far enough. you could easily get away with a 4liter.

Just got back from halfords with the coolant but not sure its the right stuff.The chap behind the counter insisted it was but we shall see.Says for most cars after 98,but does say ethaline glycol based on the back.

that looks like the stuff.. most coolents are ethylene glycol based..

dont forget the cinq engines was used right up till 2003 in the seicento and even longer in other fire engine varients. probably just a ploy to make people with older cars by more expensive varients

it might be that some manufactures use sealer/seals that are not compatible with new coolant 98 might be the date where every manufacture used it.

fiats like most manufactures always used ethylene glycol

btw do as ming said and replace brake fluid. its not hard and is worth it.

I do mine about once a year
