Technical serious problem, ideas please

Morning all
Had my 1.3 mylife for 3 weeks now, decided to go to Stratford on Friday, doing 50mph, went to over take a wagon, foot to floor, car would not go over 58mph, had to pull in, went to Weston-super-mare yesterday, down the M5 same thing, would not go over 58mph, I rang Fiat, they couldn't understand why it was doing it, can't fit me in until Thursday.
Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong?

Warning lights?

Juddering?

Constant or intermitant etc etc

Flat road, motorway, no lights, no juddering, constant, will not go over 60mph, both frustrating and dangerous, it happens even downhill, just don't know what it could be lol

I wouldn't have nessecarily said being capped to 60MPH is dangerous. Lorrys manage less without issue.

So before you reach the speed where it goes no fast will the car accelerate normally, or is it sluggish all round when driving?

It's all normal , revs ok pulls vg . Soon as y get to 60 mph it holds bk simple as that . Put foot to floor n no response @ all . There no lights, juddering etc etc ! . I even changed down manually n soon as I got to 60 it pulls no more period . I think it got a governor on it somewhere Mick

Yeah, does sound like some sort of a limp mode or something.

Sorry to read about your problem, that's a real shame especially after only having the car for 3 weeks. I hope the 'dealer' can recognise the problem, and get it sorted for you a.s.a.p..

what happens when you turn it off then start it up again?

engine light on?

sounds like map/boost sensor fault.

It's a dangerous way to drive wen u try n go by a lorry 4 eg , people look at u n think wot the bleep u doin ? Lol . Must b still in limp mode if that is wot happs at times ! Think I'll go over beat the Turk fitter that didn't check it hahaha .. Mick

It's not gd 4 fiat if they have faults b it small 1s or how ever big , it shouldn't happen to a brand new car or even if car is 5 yr old !

In the hand book there a thing called " speed block" for the 1.3 multijet version with manual g/box ! Mines a dualogic version . Any ideas any1 if dualogic as that function? . If so I take it I av to go fiat to av it sorted ?

Well actually youre wrong there. Any car my have the odd teething problem. Be it a Fiat or BMW etc. this is what your warrantee is for.

You've got the speed limiter turned off I take it if fitted.
