Hi everyone. I’m in need of serious help, if anyone can help I’ll be very grateful.
I have a 1.4 carbureted Fiat Tempra from which I needed to take out the intake manifold in order to change the gasket because it was leaking coolant to one of the cylinders. Unfortunately the technician who worked on the intake broke a sensor that I’m supposing that it’s a temperature sensor and I can’t find any sensor that looks like it on the internet. The sensor reads “p743 9057 108 75 1 e” but it doesn’t pop out any result when searching for part numbers.
I will leave photos of the sensor attached to this thread. I also found an intake photo on the internet and marked the sensor with a red circle.
Once again, I thank every help anyone can give in advance.

Could it be Part No. 7588802? Most images show the sensor with one pin versus your two pins, but there’s a chance only pin is needed. I’m not overly familiar with these engines, apologies. You might get more responses posting in the Tipo section of the Forum.

Hi, to start, thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately no. That’s not it. The tamper is lower in the sensor I have.

Last guess from me…how about 5969930?
Almost. Unfortunately no. If you check the photos I attached to this thread, the screw part is lower on the sensor. Is actually the part that is inside the manifold. A little strange in my opinion since the other sensors end in a flat spot, like the ones you sent. Once again, thank you very much for your help.

Hmm sorry I can’t help more! Hopefully someone more useful will come along…this one is very frustrating and I’d be keen to know if you find this one out!

I’ve heard it’s the same sensor on the Fiat 127 manifold, but I haven’t managed to find it. Only a person with new old stock parts was able to find one and I’m currently waiting for one to arrive then I’ll check the part number. If I find anything new I will post here. Thanks once again

As it has two terminals and screws into the manifold (no water involved) then I think it is a thermal switch.

You can test this with an ohm meter. Connect across the terminals and the switch will be either open or closed. Put it (not the terminals) in some water and heat gently. At what temperature does it change open/closed status.

Does the carb have an electrically operated choke or other air or fuel change mechanism?

Does the car have a Digiplex Ignition Module. On these (well most of them) one or two of the pins is used to change the ignition timing.

Digiplex 2 Pinout
-----------------
1 - ground to retard ignition by 3 degrees
2 - ground to retard ignition by 6 degrees
3 - starter motor solenoid +ve
4 - throttle valve sensor
5 - ignition coil +ve (supply)
6 - idle cutout
7 - TDC sensor
8 - TDC sensor
9 - diagnostic

10 - ground
11 - ignition coil -ve

Pin 1 is the first pin from left hand side when looking at the pins on the
digiplext unit. Pins 1 and 2 normally have no connection to them!
