Technical Select reverse - gearbox out of car

Hi, i'm trying to check the gear selection on a box i have.

It is a cinq sporting and is out of the car.

1st to 5th seems simple enough, but can't get it to go into reverse.

Pushing the actuator all the way (away from the bell housing)doesn't seem to 'open' reverse.

No, not as far as i know

ok... its just the reverse gear is totally separate in the box and a pain to get right when rebuilt (have to bolt the plate in while the casing is just a little open and while keeping the ball in the cup kinda thing)

anyway. remove the top plate on the gearbox.(part all the cables attach to) if your fitting a box from another fiat other then a cento, youll need to swap this part over anyway.

youll now see 4 plates that move about. one of the end ones does the reverse gear. iirc its the one that usually moves about freely and never wants to line up with the slot right.
