Hi please bare with me as i'am new to this i have a little seicento abarth 1.1 that has developed a misfire. Start it up misfire from cold runs for about 30 secs then stutters to a stop starts again and goes the through the same thing cold or hot every time. Put into local garage they plugged her in and told me the crank sensor needed replacing so they did that off i went home but guess what i did'nt make it so back to the garage she went this time they told me the ecu is faulty it has cost about £300 for this bit of info. Does the ecu need replacing or have they got it wrong can any body help as i have a little girl that need her car back and i need to close my wallet.
Thanks

Ciao!

I had a similar problem...my Amazing friend and Fountain of Knowledge solved it by fixing the HT lead sockets and plugs in to the correct position.
The rubber HT lead socket had somehow been pulled out of place along the end of the lead, so the lead socket wasn't connecting with the spark plug properly, leading to moisture/condensation build up. Worked a treat!!

Check the resistance of the leads and for any high resistance burning/damage!!...plug change??

It may be irrelevant but I hope it helps...jus a little check did wonders!!

A decade-old thread. Still, a good info.
