Hi Guys.

I've got a 2001 Seicento 1.1 (1008) 8v

I've just finished putting the car back together after the head gasket went due to the fan not kicking in.

The fuse under the dash is fine
I've fitted new relays
I've fitted a new temperature sendor unit (temp sensor)
I've tested the fan with direct power and it works perfect.

Does anyone know what I have missed?????

I really don't want to have to wire in a manual switch because I'd rather not bodge it.

Please help guys?

When you say you've fitted a new temp sender do you mean the fan switch ?

It does not have a fan switch -- or should not -- it's an MPI car, so the fan is controlled by the ECU which relies on the temperature given by the temp sensor (green coded sensor).

BUT the fuse for the rad fan is behind the battery, with the power steering fuse (both MAXI fuses).

If that's intact, I'd suspect a wiring fault.

Diagrams in the Seicento Technical Manual (in the Downloads section).

Thanks Fingers99.

Yes I did check the fuse behind battery and it's fine.

I also removed the sensor switch and bridged it and it worked.

Any ideas what the fault is?

I've not looked at a wiring diagram but am guessing there is a relay in the circuit and as its ecu switched that will be earth switched by the ecu at the correct temperature if so find said relay , find the earth terminal earthed by the ecu put your circuit tester earth connection on the battery live and probe the terminal and run up to temp that will test if the ecu is earthing the relay
