Hi guys, just thought i post a quick one up. We've had our sedicivalve for a few years now. About a 6 months ago we started to get a stutter a 4000rpm from time, sometimes it only seemed to happen when it was hot, but other times it wouldnt do it when it was hot, so it was very temperamental. It was misfiring and you could'nt drive through it, it would get to about 4200 before we backed off as we weren't sure what was doing it. We changed pretty much everything we could think of, including:
Crank Position Sensor
Cam phase Sensor
Coil and Leads
Map Sensor
TDC Sensor
Throttle Body and Throttle Position Sensor
Idle control valve
Spark plugs (NGK Iridium)
Fuel pump and hoses
Cleaned all earths
Lambda Sensor
The only sensor not changed was the Knock Sensor
We had it dyno'd/diagnostic'd at BD Engineering down in sittingbourne, and they got back to us and said at 4k, it was reading the fuelling to be the same as at idle, which cant be good
All of this didnt cure it. I had a good read through the tinterweb and read something about an ECU. A quick ebay to find out someone had one. £15 later and it arrived, and afternoon changing it. And its been about a month or two and no stutter so far! Apart from the fact the bottom end decided to let go the other day
, still no stutter
Just thought i'd let you guys know
It may be different for other cars, but for out sedici it was the ECU
Here's a pic of the car, to add to your gallery
Thanks, Roger...............
Lowered 30mm at the front, AVO Adjustables at the back with 200lbs springs. 16v Integrale 7x15 wheels with 195/45/15's on the front and 195/50/15's at the back. OMP pads on the front. It has got OMP bucket seats and Willans 6 point harness' but only the passenger side is fitted as we havent got around the making the other side yet. We tried all the omp mounting plates etc and none of it fitted so we decided to make our own. One the engines sorted (turbo maybe?) a set of AVO Coilovers are on the cards to get the front sorted out
Hope you like it
