As a new Sedici owner (2008 1.9 Eleganza 45000 miles) I have several questions about servicing. On my car yearly services were done, not services at 9000 mile intervals, so some things listed in the manual were not done.

Because of this (and the resetting of the service indicator issue) I am thinking of going to a Fiat dealer instead of my own independent garage.

The Fiat website has different routine services for cars over 3 years old - bronze £79, silver £119 and gold £159. However, the manual lists things to be done at different mileages that are not in any service type. For example:

  • Check and adjust tappet clearance, if required (27000 miles)
  • Change engine coolant (27000 miles)
  • Change manual transaxle gear oil (36000 miles)

My questions are:

  • When are the other items in the service schedule done (such as those listed above)?
  • Are there service types other than the bronze, silver or gold, and if so, how much are they likely to cost in anyone's experience?

Thanks

If the car still has some sort of warranty or you want to take advantage of any Fiat goodwill in the event of a catastrophic failure and to take advantage of any recalls and as you have just bought the car a one-off full service at a Fiat dealer is probably reasonable; the most important thing NOW is a cambelt/tensioner/water pump change and to get the transmission oil changed......
