Hi, I have been a 'b' owner since Nov 06 after longing for one for many moons! The wife spotted them first and almost bought one before me but thanks to Fiat's long waiting times and a useless and uninterested salesman she didn't. I've enjoyed some of the banter on the Forum pages and thought I should finally join the rest of the 'lunatics' (as my children have suggested..their words not mine). Can I ask advice from the great 'sages' out there whether they could recommend a suitable security system for my 'b', it has remote locking only. Thanks in anticipation, Stevo.:worship:

Are you quite sure that your B has not got a factory fitted alarm already? I was under the impression that thay all had. There should be a box on the right hand side of the engine bay, in front of the battery with a key lock to turn it on/off covered by a black plastic weatherproof cap. It would work off the remote control fob. regards clive.

Not all B's had an alarm fitted, It was an optional extra. I am going to fit a TOAD alarm sometime this year. Its a good system that is modular so you can build on it as you go. Toad do everything from remote start 2 locking central locking at 10mph.

All I've got is a flashing led that doesn't flash
will get one eventually but as it's locked in the garage with two cars locked infront of that, i don't take my eyes off of it when it's out so it's pretty safe at the mo There are lots of systems out there now relatively inexpensive some good, some rip off. Your best bet is a recommendation and if not shop about see what is available and prices before jumping in.
One of the largest internet sites is car audio & security but as said have a good look at a system you like then search umpteen sites for that system for the best price.

Mine doesnt work anyway!! The car came without the original remote/alarm blipper. I bought one but I couldnt get it to accept the programming so tomorrow I go and pick up the yellow relay/ remote alarm thingy as mentioned in a different thread foe less than half price
