Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

3 x £900 = £2700

£500 discount comprising of £100 back each (=£300) and £200 sales commission.

3 x £900 = £2700+£200 sales comission = £2900!

£3000-£2900 = £100 defecit.

If car was £3000 and they each paid £900, the toatl was £2700 so the salesman kept £300, not £200 as he said he was going to do, thereby conning them out of £100.

I'm not explaining it again - sorry chaps.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Quote "3 x £900 = £2700+£200 sales comission = £2900"
incorrect

3 x £900 = £2700 INCLUDING £200 commision! - £2700!
The salesman takes his commision from the £2700 which the three men paid!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Original price £3000, now reduced to £2500 thus the £3000 has gone out the window and can be forgotton about from this point forwards.

They all pay £1000 totalling £3000. The salesman now has £3000 in his pocket. He gives them back £100 each, meaning he has £2700 in his pocket. He then gives them the car and the £2500 that it cost in the till leaving £200 in his pocket.

Job done! Although your sum sounds correct it is actually incorrect and the above is correct. You are working out different sums.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

£3000 original -£100 each, -£200 commision car cost £2500. They all paid £900 each =£2700 giving salesman £200 on top of the £2500 asking price.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

No!

3X£900=£2700.

£3000-£2700=£300

Salesman kept £300!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Are you not listening or what ?

£3000 - £2700 = £300

Which is the £100 the salesman gave back to each of the buyers from the £1000 they each gave him !

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

come on then roger, we dont seem able to give you the answer your looking for. What is it? You said you would tell us today.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

The answer has been posted by myself a few times, seems I'm crap at maths too.

Just a bit of fun, but something to think about when you but your new shiny Arbarth Stilo 2.4.......mouthwatering! Maybe?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Hmmm

The salesman kept nothing more than the 200...
They each paid 1000... then he took 500 off...gave 100 each and kept 200!!

3000 original price (1000 paid by each one)
2500 price after discount

500 discount split as:
100 to each = 900 pound paid by each one
200 left = salesman!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

How many more times?

Salesman kept £300.

3 x £900 = £2700.

£3000 - £2700 = £300, which salesman pocketed.

I'm going into car sales with all you idiots around!

Re: Re: Re: .

Christopher, you are so stupid.

£3000 - £2700 = £300. In salesman's pocket.

End of story.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

You keep saying £3000 - £2700 = £300, which the salesman pocketed.

In the Original Post you said
"I'll give you each back £100 from the £1000 you've paid..."

Which is the £300 mentioned above, and explains the £2700 which is £2500 for the car and £200 for the salesman. Is it just you that can't see it, or are you just trying to wind everyone up again ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Bloody Hell.

Original price = £3000
Discounted price = £2500

Obviously a variance of £500.

Out of the £500 discounted price, each punter is given back £100 out of the £1000 they originally paid; thereby each paying £900 and the salesman is going to keep £200 commission - got it so far?

The 3 x £100 refunds added to the £200 commission add upto £500 - the variance between screen price and reduction.

Now, if they're each had £100 back from the £1000, they have each paid £900.

£900 x 3 = £2700
Commission of £200 added to that above = £2900, thereby leaving £100 difference.

Now do you understand that the salesman fleeced the 23 unsuspecting Bravo buyers?

If not, ask your mother to expalin.

3 x £

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Why do you keep adding the £200 commission back on ?

The £500 is 3x£100 plus the £200 commission which he doesn't give back to them, so the £2700 they pay INCLUDES the £200 commission, why would they pay it again ? You said yourself that they paid £900, not £900 plus £200 between them, so they paid £2700 altogether, where is the magical £200 from that you keep adding back on ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

How thick can you get?

I'm not explaining over and over and over and over and over.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Re-arrange: Pot, Black, Kettle, Calling, The

I have heard this one before and it has been quite obvious that you have worded it incorrectly. It makes sense to me, have you not noticed that the only person who can see it the way you can is YOU !

£3000 was the price of the car.
Salesman offers £500 discount and says that he will give each £100 back (£300 in total) and keep the other £200 as his comission so each has paid £900 which totals £2700.

At this point you add the £200 commission back on again, WHY ? The salesman already has his £200 commission ! You have said yourself on numberous occasions that they pay £2700, so where does this magical £200 come from that you are adding onto it to make it £2900 ?!?! This has been asked numerous times and still no answer, they paid £2700, not £2900

This is a trick maths question and is all about the wording, you got the wording wrong, what is the salesman going to do to get the extra £200 out of them ? "Can i have another £66.66 of each of you ?"

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Second Last Post

Scroll back.

Again.

hmm

Sorry but Anonymous is correct, the wording is just slightly off.

I can now see what you are trying to say RR, but you've set out the riddle incorrectly.

As a result, everyone here will keep on saying the £100 hasn't gone anywhere and you'll keep disagreeing!

Re: hmm

All the money was paid to the salesperson. Therefore he has £3000.

The £500 is irrelavant.

He gives the men £300 back (3x£100)

The salesman now has £2700 in his hand

£2700 + £300 = £3000

Simple...See i told you it was a Fiat Salesperson (thieving b*st*rds)
