Second hand Punto

My wife gets a good Fiat discount & last time we paid cash for our car but the time before that we lost £1k on p/ex, due to the dealer trying to make something on a staff deal.

This time though the p/ex Punto has done 63k, aircon doesn't work, needs new pipe & re gas £200, front shock has slight leak (local garage £175 to do) and ATS fitted an exhaust that when there's more than 2 in the car it hits the axle. Doesn't bother me as only I ever go out in it!

Parkers say £3025 private sale - £15 per 1k over 40k.....therefore £2680 as bodywork is excellent & inside perfect. Servicing has been done but some with 17k gap.....does it therefore not have FSH? I suppose its just not at right times as its had as many services as it should have had!

Do you reckon I could sell this easily private or not worth hassle? Price it with aircon & shocks taken off price...as cant be doing with hassle of getting done...MOT until 31/8/05.

Put up for £2500?

first of all 175 to fix a shock i hope thats for the pair ??? still seems lots to me but depends wer eyou take it.


as for the exhaust i had that on my car. have you taken it back ?? you probably have same prob as i did. the rear silencer is an oval shape and if you put it on at wrong angle hits axle i took mine back (took 4 months to work out what noise was). and all they had to do was undo the U clamp rotate exhaust about 5 degress and do up again has been fine since.


if the servercing was every year i would say fsh if it wasnt i would say good service history.

Saw Kia are selling a Cerato for £7950 today, as its 2 min drive took the Punto down there and p/ex offered....best they can do £1750.
