Just got nasty MOT shock: need new set front set of seatbelts for my 4yr old bravo. They have always had some slightly surface chaffing (which doesn't look like it would sacrifice strength) and passed previous MOTs by other Fiat garages. I don't think they've deterioated since.

Any opinions as to whether I've been unlucky this time/lucky previous times or whether I might be being ripped off.

Is there any real reason a Fiat garage would try it on when they could more easily offer me new shocks or brake discs etc?

Thanks

Ted

Depends if you want to risk having potentially dangerous seatbelts in your car :)

If they are frayed or have been scuffed then it is an MOT failure. If you crash they might have to restrain 2-3tonnes.
