Panda (Classic) SEAT Marbella (Mk1 Panda replica).

haha, it's a good channel. One of the finest on Youtube

The car already has a recirculating dump valve though; most standard setups are but they have quiet plastic ones I think. I bought a metal one which may be a little louder than necessary. But still not crazy loud. The wastegate makes the most noise really :slayer:

fair play - and yes most cars have a plastic one - i found most saab ones have metal innards when i had one fail once, still plastic casing but metal piston inside.

Yes it is pretty terrifying...and for all the reasons you have given  But also the spring rate on the front is far too soft (and probably rear although will see how that feels when the front has been set right).

The roll bar is perhaps a little soft but also the bushes on it are pretty shot so that would be a good start

As far as I can see, LSD options are down to 1 expensive option (Bacciromano) unless I can get a group buy of 10+ off at Quaife with the 127 sport / A112 / Panda lot.

Unless you reckon there is another option that is?

I'd do the 'cheap' stuff first - stiffer springs and maybe lowering will help the camber too. LSDs are effective but brutal fixes, to my mind. The darting side to side and steering weight put me off just as much as the cost.
Softer wider tyres would help cornering, braking and traction whereas an LSD is a bit of a one trick pony in comparison.

Great fun doing never ending development work.(y)(y)

My Twingo GT had a plastic one, and was very quiet. So I took the recirculating hose off it which gave me a very loud and obnoxious dump valve, which was hilarious for a while
But after lifting off the throttle there was significant lag when getting back on it again so I reattached it :)

One more event complete and final one of the year. Will be sorting out suspension next:slayer:

This weekend was Manor Farm in Charmouth which was new to me. Wasn't sure at first as the cars general wobblyness doesn't suit a tight twisty circuit but got it towards the end.

Also kind thanks to Andrew ( firstcar-Y10 ) for the donated turbo badge. I was eager to get it on the car before the event so refurbed it the night before. Was a quick touch up and lacquer though...shiney now...

And fitted at the hill climb while others were still tuning their race machines......

Got a video to upload as well but will sort out later

I could play around with the current spax springs I guess, although I had pretty much decided it was going to happen after this event and will be sending off the current shocks for modification quite soon:devil:

Fancy modern turbo could help but handling first I think :D Quite excited to get this done as really does feel like last major mod to get the car competitive. Just spend an embarassing amount on the hybrid turbo refurbish job anyway so really hope there is much more life left in this one yet!

Also got some servicing to do as well. Needs new calipers as brakes sounded terrible after the hillclimb...and glazing the pads a lot, so likely the cylinders are starting to degrade :(. Quite tempted to fit discs to the rear as well now that I've seen it done

I'm interested in trying rear discs too, so keep in touch. My experiment on the fronts is underway and I hope to post on that in a couple of weeks but if that turns out okay then moving the front calipers and discs to the back would be an obvious progression.:D

It'll stop like a 911. .. . Sort of.

Si, nice one!

Re the adjustable camber, as I was plaing with it recently as well have a look on ebay for dual axis digital protractor DXL360s. With simple jig can be used to set castor, camber and tracking. Not that expensive as the proper sets.

oh man, they are nice. i dread to think how much they cost!

They cost more than I would like to admit, but the performance improvement I am sure will be worth it.

Very interesting, I may also look into that. I was going to employ a much simpler method, but that looks like a pretty useful bit of kit! Thanks for the tip off! They seem to be a very good price as well @ £30-40

So got the beauties fitted, and mostly looking ok although the ride height is on its minimum safe setting so think there is going to need some new springs made up at least. Only thing is with a shorter spring the coil will loose all its pre-load at full drop. But maybe not an issue...

Exciting times ahead. Will be fitting these puppies as soon as I finish roofing my car port!...

Adjustable damping, ride height and camber now :slayer:

Wow just read most of your thread , you've fairly had your ups and downs!
Cars looking great now I must admit and those Leda front shocks are exactly what I need in my life for my project☺

I presume Leda have all the specs and just require your old shocks to be converted ? If you dont mind me asking what price were they speaking for this setup ? (Or just tell me to b###r off ) ?
