Seat Ibiza 1.4 Chill EML on.

Its an 02 plate, 50,000 on the clock almost and no major issues in a year since we owned it, now the EML has lit up. Starts, runs and drives fine. I got the light off by disconnecting the battery for 20 mins but it came back on 10 mins later. Its my youngests car and due for Service / MoT on Oct 17th.

I suspect the MAF after trawling seatcupra.net, but I cant find the *kin thing!

Anyone any Seat experience they wanna share?

I'm guessing the emissions will fail at MoT time if I dont fix it beforehand.

Suppose I need a Scantool for VAG-COM... :-(

So while I'm at it.... anyone know a Scantool that would do the Seat, my GPS diesel, Wifeys 1.2 petrol Stilo AND our eldests Pug 206CC?

On the 1.4 the MAF is on the side of the intake manifold iirc - a bit fiddley as well tbh to get at http://www.talktomycar.co.uk/products/interfaces/interfaces.htm is usually pretty good .

Bought a U480 Memory scanner and I now have the code 0030 which is a generic code for an o2 sensor failure, there is 2, 1 pre cat & the other post cat.
Are these usually identical or differing in some way?

I plan to try cleaning them, before buying new....but I dont hold out much hope of success.

I have cleared the 0030 code 3 times & each time it comes back after running the car for a few seconds... cant be switching fast enough or at all I guess.

Damn MoT on 17th and I'll bet the blo*dy sensor over riches the mixture...

Most of the time its the heater circuit of the sensor that goes down - emissions are normally ok with this though.

MoT done, Premium service, brake fluid changed, coolant changed, Lambda sensor replaced, 1 rear wheel cylinder replaced, headlamps aligned & 1 new tyre.
