Oh please whose scaremongering now? That's horseshit, Westminster cannot remove devolved powers already handed to the Scottish government. It would basically be illegal. We are not going to lose free prescriptions etc.

What worries me most about independence is this. How are we going to afford all the free stuff the yes party is offering?.

Maybe from the billions we put to Westminster as a country that we don't get back? Y'know, that black hole where we currently pay out more to Westminster than we get back as a budget? But wait a second, we can "afford" it like that at present on our current budget. How are we going to suddenly not be able to afford it anymore with more money that should be directly available?

i know which side my bread is buttered so voting no.
Are you HONESTLY going to try argue this is not a selfish arguement???? If so then you are simply deludeding yourself into to trying justify a position.

Get educated on the actual facts of the matter Steve. Learn about block grants, look at the nhs in England and tell me that our health service isnt under threat with a no vote.

Can everyone please

1) leave football out of this - we've already established both sides have twats amongst their ranks so lets leave it at that
2) debate nicely and respectfully. If you disagree with someone then present your reasons why and try and persuade them they're wrong that way. If they still disagree with you then tough
3) remember that I haven't the patience or time normally to wade through posts removing the problem parts and will just delete or even lock the thread instead if it becomes a less than friendly debate
