Say goodbye to another Brit car maker

i, for one, will now be boycotting all tvr's and taking my sportscar pound elsewhere.

..a lottery ticket, my only hope. 'c'mon baby, daddy needs a tvr..'
is b******* tho'. 250 poor sods on the dole.

lol, yes, gotta start getting me those lotto tickets, damn russians, ruining our econemy

The F'ing stupid Russian W@anker!!! Peter Wheeler should never have sold his baby, he removed all foreign parts bit by bit from his cars, and now this vodka drinking tosser is un doing a beautiful BRITISH car, i am f'ing sickened!

I hope he gets run over by a stray russian decomissioned tank!

Ironic isn't it that just when TVR's were good value, with their own engine, and being made properly (although the odd bit of trim still fell off) the Russian bugger pulls the plug.
The idea of making them in the eastern bloc (as was) is a complete non-starter. No-one would buy them as they wouldn't be a hand made British sports car anymore.

Hope the greedy Russian swine goes broke!

Some great news:

"The firm's boss Nikolai Smolenski announced on Wednesday that despite previous assurances that the brand would remain British, he was closing the current factory in Blackpool and moving production to 'elsewhere in Europe'. France and Russia have been mooted as potential sites, but Autocar's sources insist that the Russian tycoon has struck a deal to use Italian coachbuilder Bertone to assemble the 2007 model Sagaris, Tuscan and Tuscan convertible in Turin.

TVR stated that its drivetrain production would remain in the UK, and Autocar understands that engineering firm Ricardo - which is already working on bringing TVR's own engines up to Euro IV emissions standards - is to install a production line to supply the new-spec motors, and offer its own warranty to buyers.

The new structure could prove an astute move by Smolenski, who is keen for TVR to quickly strengthen its engineering and built quality credentials. Little of the current equipment at Blackpool is expected to be used in the new factory, potentially allowing Smolenski to restart production quickly, and in time for the 2007 model year."

So finally some MODERN production techniques to boost quality!

And Peter Wheeler ran TVR into the ground. He mishandled funds and couldn't pay back suppliers, and thus had to resort to cheaper suppliers which brought down quality even more.

Someone had to step in to replace the old man, and although this Russian fella may have had a shaky start in terms of public reaction, a big cash injection and some 21st century thinking is what TVR always needed.

Under Wheeler's regime, the cars were being produced in a dirty, unorganised barn with cave-man technology. Unacceptable for the perceived image of TVR, not to mention the price you pay for them.
