I have been spending the last couple of days giving the car a good clean as there was quite a few tar spots on the car and to be honest dont think it has been done since the car was new. Now i like to know where all the wee defects are on the car like scratches etc and it has a few but after giving the car a good wash and polish she doesnt look to bad for her miles ( just over 60k on a 59 plate).

Now the disapointung thing that i have noticed is rust bubbles starting to appear long the lenght of the boot lid. they are not big but before long will start to cause a problem i rekon. Also the paint has started to come away from the corner of the boot lid as well as is starting to rust.

Does anyone else suffer from this and any ideas how much it will cost to repair probably gonna have to respray the whole boot.

i would be suprised if they didn't listen, doen't matter where you bought it

after all Fiat are still in the shadow of the 'rust' image and the cars have a seperate (8 year?) rust warranty
they might get sniffy about periodic paint inspections...

I'm sure that will be covered by the 8 year Anti-Perforation warranty?
Again I have a 08 reg bravo that has spent every single day of its life outside and there isn't a sign of any rust or paintwork issues.

I presume from your post that you are not the first owner.
It could be that the car has had damage and been repaired at sometime.
If not verified as approved repair by fiat, then the warranty will not apply.
You probably will never know its real history, if it has had more than one owner.

Only covers a panel who has a complete rust whole through it from one side to the other when I last checked.

Sounds more probable.

Can you explain exactly where this bobbling is taking place? I had bobbling paint on the underside of the boot lid near the seam in the metal most likely caused by excessive water ingress from somewhere on the boot lid. To cut a long story short Fiat agreed to pay 90% of the repair cost but said it was not covered by the anti perforation warranty because no body had actually rusted through as a result of it. That was two years ago and the bobbling paint has just started to reappear.

Its not imediately noticeablebut now o have seen it it will annoy me. All boot interior panels are straight with no real obvious signs off a prang. The bubble are a few mm across in a rough line about or just umder the level of the Bravo badge. As i say its livable with just need to get sorted eventually. There is a slight scuff on the rear bumper where a kid has hit it with a bike that i am going to get CHips away to sort. I might see what they say.

Cheers for all the replies

....and to add has the car been dealer serviced with body inspection carried out at the same time, there is a section that should be stamped in the service book?

Got any pics of this rust

Just to add to my post earlier, the one with the picture of the bubble that can't be seen by a certain person, your description is pretty accurate to how mine is. A few bubbles appearing around the badge. What we should have done was buy 08 plates, they're pristine don't ya know.

I have decided to try and ignore the rust for the time being and spend my time more trying to find out why my oil is pishing out from my gearbox.
