Do you need to eun all speakers in or does it depend on the material they are made from?

If so how long do you run them in for and at what level?

There is this great myth about 'running speakers in'. :)

Its not something you need to actively do nor do you need to do anything special, its something that happens all by itself. You will notice after about 5-10 hours of running the sound will change slightly.

when people talk about running in speakers, what they really mean to say is dont turn the system up to full straight away

a few hours use with out it been on full wack should be enough, then u can start to crank it up a little

Re: Re: Re: Re: Running Speakers In

that's what i thought, but you hear about people who run them low for a month, then a bit more for a month, all seemed a little extreem to me!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Running Speakers In

Like I said, its not something you actively do. They run themselves in.

The sort of people who do that are the sad wannabe audiophiles who think spending £50/m on cable will make things sound better.

Allan

the really amusing thing about running in your speakers and subs is that if you keep it low and dont put enough power in to the speakers it can actualy damage them!

in all the fosgate manuals I have, there moto when installing new equipment is "bring the speakers to to life slowly over a few hours"

thatswhat i've always done and it seems to have done the trick
