hi all i went to the garage last night and filled up my car, today gets in the car and its been running very lumpy..ive put the correct fuel in. also when i accelerate theirs a little loss of power,my freind said could be anything..maybe the carburretor needs cleaning, does the 1.2 bravo have a carb? ifso were is it. anyone got a pic.if im stood still the revs go between 0 and 1000 revs. when i set of ive got to put the accelerator down a little further to set of..the cars been running fine up until i went to the garage for fuel. my mate said that there might be water in the petrol at the petrol station..??any ideas anyone.

Hi,
sounds like it could be fuel contamination, not TOO unusual if you've had heavy rain lately..!! ( runs into the underground Fuel storage tanks).

maybe ask at the garage, some are honest and will tell you if you are the 15th person to ask today..!!,

Obviously if they own-up you have a chance of them paying for one of the specialist fuel companies to sort it.. ( drain-off your tank + fuel filter)

Your car is Fuel injected - no carb..!!,

good luck and let us know what you find-out,

Charlie

i went to garage this morning and they say they never had an contaminated petrol,no one else has complained. when im driving there seems to be a loss of power until i speed up.when i slow down i get a lot of clanging from the rear left,im just wondering if maybe a break caliper is stuck or maybe one of the brake shoes has come of inside the drum.i dont get the engine management light on. just loads of clanging noises like somethings shuddering from the rear left..any help is appreciated.

just been to freinds house,he got his diagnostics tool out, turns out its the coilpack...going to go back down tomorow and go on the diagnostics just to be sure it brings the same codes up..touch wood its the same results as today. hopefully new coilpack it shall be.

If its the 8v engine, then probably the cambelt jumped - they seem to do it at start-up, and a hot engine could make likelyhood more so. It costs nothing to check. I would think that a coil fault would be more regular misfiring.
If its a 16v, then ignore all above.
Just an idea.
Tony.

well ive now got rid of the bravo, costing to much in parts. ive bought myself a handheld diagnostics machine..ive now bought a punto sporting which i hope wont give me too many problems..i was very surprised when i changed the insurance over..the sporting came back £200 cheaper than the bravo so i think all in all i made a good move...ill put a pic up when i mange to get down to it. thanks for all your help.:):D
