Hi, my Panda has started making a rubbing sound from the nearside wheel whenever turning to the right. No sounds turning left or when running straight. It starts with the most minor of turning to the right and gets louder the harder you turn.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Have you inspected underneath?
If not, any suggestions are only guestimates - as is this one:
A split drive shaft boot could make a noise like you've described - or even early wear on the driveshaft joint itself.
Get it up on a ramp and you may pinpoint the cause. Saves worry, huh?
 
A couple of things can cause this, but it's likely either a wheel bearing or the driveshaft's CV joint.

To test a wheel bearing, jack up the offending wheel, grip it at 12 and 6 and try rocking it.
If it moves, get someone to lean in and apply the foot break.
If the rocks stops, it's a wheel bearing.

Try at 3 and 9, you might find some play in the steering's tie rods or track rod ends. (will still rattle with the brake on)

Driveshafts have two CV joints, an inner and an outer.
Outers tend to click, click, click when turning in tight circles.

Inners tend to vibrate at speed, but can also whoop as they spin out of alignment, they also can knock/slap as drive is taken up (lifting the clutch).

They are harder to test, but a few circles with the windows down in the car park while listerning for the repeated clicking works for the outers.

Inner are a little tricky, jacking up and rotating the wheel back and forth gently while feeling for the point the joints all lock up and start to turn the diff can often show slack.

The wheel/shaft shouldn't flop too far back and forth (you need to compare with the other side) before locking up.
A few mm either way is ok, anything more and there's wear, check the rubber boots as a split will allow water and grit in and wear the joint out in no time.

Another thing to try is to slip under with the wheels on the ground and try rattling the shafts close to the inner joints, they should be fairly tight and not slap or rattle loudly.
