Do a compression test and 'sniff' test just to rule out anything nasty.

I changed the plugs today from the old Fiat/Lancia type to NGK and the misfire has disappeared.

Yeah I'm glad too, I was nearly tearing my hair out! Must have always been a faulty plug on cylinder 3 even from new! NGK have never let me down.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank every one for their input, you have all been very helpful.

Btw. what plugs did you go for?

I went for NGK BKR6EZ. They are standard 'R' plugs.

Glad to hear it's sorted. I also found the NGKs marginally better.

F1 use NGK's so I guess they should be the best.
