hmmm the OP did say the fueling in the remap is spot on, just the figure is out tho. Guess that's the positive from it! Which is really what am looking for. Just waiting for reply to see if they could map cento with a standard ECU!

Ming

the positive being they didn't balls up the fueling, just lied to the op about what they could achieve....ok.

you'll probably be waiting a while for that reply ;)

i'm still waiting on word about my Gsr from when i had the Seicento, something tells me i'm not going to hear about it, ah well, i bought one second hand anyway, about 6 months ago

You know if you want the kit bad enough. Wait for a second hand unit. The silicon bit is all your after anyway, and second hand you'll probably be able to get one quicker! :D Cheaper too then you can pump a CDA on the end with the extra wonga you save.

that's consistently what i say about Gsr kits also (y)

Fiat forum are being accused of letting this man of lightly what you think peeps have they got skeletons in the cupboard I know of one Mod who openly told me he is using him for what he can get out of the relationship [if only I had kept that PM]..Also I have been told that I can no longer mention his user name or company name on there any longer in any of my posts ..but that seems to only apply to a select few who wish to tell the truth about this company while others post good about him uncensored.. I personally find it hard [having been along side and done work for him] why he has the engineering part in his job description at all from what I saw the last and only time I will darken his door a 1st year engineering student carries more tools than this guy would own in a life time of work.. the place is a total disaster area a total health and safety hazard which is why he obviously doesnt employ anyone[not that he could afford to] ..nothing but scrapped car shells and very little space to work to say I was glad to get home to my creature comforts is an under statement..

obviously, i can't comment on the goings on with FF and the GSR situation other than saying that the allegations that have been made on their site, were done so with no proof. without any proof, the allegations are just that.

I don't believe there are any funny goings on, but i do believe there is a friendship between FF and GSR that is beneficial to both parties, So the mods that have had good experiences with GSR stick up for a product they believe in robustly.

What i will comment on, is the fact right now, FF seems out of control. theres too much petty squabling going on, and things getting out of hand, it's one of the many reasons i choose not to frequent the FF anywhere near as much as i used to. in the near futre, i'll probably stop altogether barring for things like events organising.

Imo, whilst we might not have the audience or quite as wide a general knowledge base on FS as they do on FF, the current atmoshere of the sites and the useability are poles apart, and imho, FS is currently the best Fiat site in Britain (not that we are bigging ourselves up or anything ;) ) (y)

I really wish I didn't agree with this statement as much as I do. To the point where in it's present shape I will never log back on FF. :(

However. On points raised elsewhere.
FF does not have an internal policy of backing GSR. This is a fact.
Perhaps a certain mod does have interests in GSR which make his own decisions poor when considered against what would be good for the forum and it's members. But this is not FF policy and certainly not Bens, or the majority of mods there.

tbh, i have only seen one or two instances from a couple of mods "advertising" gsr kits. Both mods have bought the kits for their car and have liked the results and reccomended the kits. thats no different from a normal member buying a kit and saying they liked it. so the allegations of backhanders etc were utterly ridiculous.

The problem in the GSR issue seems to really lie where there are problems with the kits or complaints about the customer service, one or two mods are very, very defensive about GSR as a whole (probably because they had no such problems), but because of their "position of power" on the forum, it comes across like they are in league with Pete of GSR, and will back him to the hilt no matter how bad and valid the forums members complaint is. when people feel hard done by and cheated and they see people in charge of a forum backing the person who they feel has done them wrong, they jump to the conclusion of backhanders etc, which is just a totally unfair allegation. It's notable which Mods stay well out of all arguments, and those who jump in, because its normally the same 2 who jump in, i feel that helps fuel arguments that really shouldn't even be allowed to exist.

as for the other issues of the squabbling etc.... well, it's another issue entirely. it's just got to the point where you can't ask a question without insults flying and arguments brewing over nothing. its very noteable since i stopped being a regular on there, alot of the members who were fellow cento-mentalists still post, but nowhere near as much as before, so i have a feeling it's not just me from that section that got sick and tired of it :(

the fact i think i've made 30-40 posts in the last year, 20 of which were on the Xmas meet thread speaks volumes, when my post count before that was about 750 posts in a year, only recently have i logged back on to see how its going, and i was shocked at just how bad it was now, even on the football forums, theres far, far less arguing going on between supporters of 2 bitter rivals than there is between some posters that own Fiats, its a crazy situation :(

I hope this isn't at all sounding like a bitchy Rant against FF, because it isn't in the slightest, i have a large degree of sadness such a good resource for Fiat owners all over the globe has become almost a no go, it's a sad situation thats got so bad, i just don't see how it can sorted any time soon :(

Ofcourse you would be welcome. Peter would never turn down a chance to take money off someone when in person.
Read the thread though mate, it aint gonna happen. We as a nation are not quite as susceptible to Peters bullshit as other countries that make up the UK.

Nor are the Welsh either.. but there are still plenty of what he calls Muppets around that will still think he is a god..

I get the feeling that this thread isn’t proving too popular.

Ive heard mixed reports about GSR/ Red-dots mapping through FF. Some people say that they are excellent maps and others disagree, but more people say the mapping is excellent. I have no experience of Petes customer service, but when I have emailed him he has always answered my questions in great detail.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get the mapping done properly in the Glasgow area then, I don’t fancy the tuning boxes.

They have a big rep with Ford guys. Maybe a little north for you as they are near Pitlocherie.
And unlike reddot they actually have recognition they are good. With several fast ford and Banzia features.
So just a slightly better reputation than a unit that wrecked a load of VAGs and is defended to the death by adults who are a little slow and 17 year olds who believe anything a bigger boy tells them.

How many times have you seen red dot splattered across the pages of Auto Italia?

Thanks for the link.

had a quick look, but as far as i can see they only do the plug in chips.

My intentions with red dot (i know your reactions haha) were for a custom map on the rolling road as opposed to the plug in chips, as im lead to believe that they just tend to overfuel. Do sitech racing offer this custom mapping on the roads?

thanks

You would need to ask them. Plugin chips don't just over fuel though. Setup properly they give just as good a results as a remap.
Phone them and ask.

Regards the "custom" maps. Red dot actually use generic maps which are loaded them tweeked if required.

Red dot are not the only place in the UK that offer rolling road remaps. If they did The big tuner guys would all travel the country to go to them. ;)
