Hi everyone,

I'll be very careful to keep this factual, but feel its only fair to share this:

I ordered and paid for a GSR cinq induction kit from "Oldschool" (Pete Hofmann or "CPH" on Performance Fiat) on the 11th November. He said it would be about a week to delivery from payment.

After 2 weeks, and no delivery, i contacted him again for an update - no reply.

I have tried and tried on here and on performance fiat (he's a moderator on there and regularly posting) to contact him since to ask where my order is but have had no replies to any messages/PMs/emails. I have even asked the friendly moderators on here to contact him on my behalf, which they kindly did (cheers!) - he's blanking them too.

Looks like I've been ripped off and i don't think i'm the only one - while trying to reach this guy i've heard several similar stories.

Just thought i should share that as I would hate anyone else to get burnt. You may have more luck than me of course!

cheers, Dan

As you've said this - unfortunately - is part-and-parcel of the GSR experience, sure you get good kit when you eventually get it but customer service is non-existent.

Just a suggestion to Peter who will no doubt be reading this, how about hiring a couple of people to answer PM's/E-mails/phone calls so that this bad reputation doesn't continue to haunt you for the rest of your career?

Aye - if you EVER get it! Funny, he was very communicative up to the point of payment ;-)

its no way to run a business or to treat people full stop, to be honest i don't think he cares - i've tried and tried to get in touch and have given up. Can only pass it onto the police if nothing turns up this week, see what they make of it (i've had some success this way in the past, very surprisingly!)

I'll get straight, i'm like a dog with a bone with these things!

Theres always two sides to every story so i think its best and fair to hear what Oldschool has to say on all your matters before allegations begin flying

I had the same thing with Chris Astley Motorsport. I had ordered a vernier pulley for my cinq but it never showed up. Luckily I paid with paypal and so i was able to claim back the payment. Maybe something for you to do in the future. I hope you wil get your kit in the end.

Cheers

i did exactly the same, vernier pulley for a cinq from that place, it came eventually after waiting a few months.
If you think there bad, dont even try gazzella.

As for gsr, i think there poop aswell. ive sent pm's with no reply. there a waste of time.
get the silicone elbow signwerx's had made up and make your own kit, or, i recon the novitec boxes are the best induction setup(y)

Don't think they can afford that!

Plus I wouldnt expect to get a GSR kit before about a month:p

Thanks for the advice and support folks. If he'd even had the courtesy to reply and tell me when i might expect it then i wouldn't be half as peeved, but its been over a month now when he said a week. I held off on posting this as i thought he could be ill or anything, but he's there on PF forum all the time, so obviously just got poor ethics.

I'll get straight on way or another - who knows, maybe it will show up eventually. If he does this as a business then he's committing commercial suicide letting things like this happen - reputation is everything in my experience - word of mouth travels twice as far and fast when it's negative.

Anyone got any real-world contact details for him? (phone/address)

Wish i'd thought to pay through paypal, but i thought he was OK as he's pretty well known on here.

cheers, dan

As far as I have read its always been like this and they still drum up enough business (LOTS). I guess its just a sacrifice people make for good gains.

he has been the same in all the years he has been on here, but people still ordering kits

tbh id ask for free delivery if product wasnt there within the week it was meant to be and you've been waiting a month, as a good will gesture just to show he does give 2 tosses about customers.. is just shocking..

Gaz

Mr Hoffman has annoyed yet another person.

There are too many moderators taking back handers on here from him. They dont care what he does, as long as their pockets are lined.
