To much to mention, I'm afraid..you'll find out along the way.
About 15 years ago, I drove a similar 127 (147) Panorama Diesel, little stationwagon, (not the van!), it used to be a service vehicle from a local Fiat dealership.
When they went out of business, I bought the car, and drove it as a daily driver for about two years.
Headgaskets are a weak point on these small Diesel engines, so be sure to warm up the engine properly before demanding power from it...
And they DO rust...so investing in a professionally rustproofing isn't a bad idea at all...

Thanks. I did hear they have a more strengthened floor and suspension. I thought the Diesel engine was pretty rock solid in these. I won't be winning any races in it so certainly won't be pushing it to perform.
Yes will definitely do the rust proofing when the warmer weather is here. Will be putting her up on a ramp next week so can see what's what.

Very important knobs!
One of them is the hand throttle, not much of use.( I remember to rotate it, rather dan push or pul it).
The other is crucial for good starting, it alters the timing of the fuel injection pump, and is necessary at every (rather) cold start up!
See it as a choke!
On modern Diesel cars, it works automatically, but you have to do it manually.
Don't forget to push it back after a few minutes/miles.

Sounds as if I should leave the hand throttle one alone and just use the choke.

The reason for asking is that one of them is broken!! I'm hoping not the choke.

There is a small lever next to the injectionpump, where the cable should be attached on, that's the lever that controls the pump timing.....
During a cold start you manually advance the timing a bit, so the engine runs smooth.
The cable snaps when pulled to hard though....

Thank you again!! Yes I guess that's what has happened at some point.
I'll properly investigate when I go down to the garage this week having the MOT.
I'll post some more pics up soon. I can see already that the wheel arches and underneath have all been thoroughly undersealed/waxoiled at some point too which is good but I'll have a proper look when she's up on the ramp.

Hi folks
I've hit a problem with the MOT due to my pickup having LHD headlamps.
On a temporary basis I've heard you can buy reflectors to make the beam go the correct way for our roads. Is that right?
Otherwise does anyone know where I can obtain the rhd headlamps from?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They are the same as mine LHD ones but he said about the stickers so I'll try to find out about them.

Stickers won't work in the end, doesn't look good in any way.
They drive on the left in India, right?
So units made in India should be fine!

It hadn't actually occurred to me about where they were made but yes you're right. I didn't know they drive on the left in India but it totally makes sense that the headlamps should be good for over here. Worth a try so thanks again!

OK, well I'm no UK resident, but wasn't India once part of the UK...??
Lot's of Fiat owners from India in the Palio section, (where I'm moderator as well...) and they all speak ( write) perfectly English..!!

Still having problems unfortunately. According to my MOT station, buying LHD headlamps and using stickers to convert them is not acceptable.
They are required to see the beam kick out to the left hand side which wont happen using the stickers as it only creates a straight line.
I also have an issue actually getting an MOT because the car has no registration plates - they were taken back to Italy with the seller as they are required there for termination of the registration.
The computerised system for MOT in the UK means that the chassis number on my pickup is not recognised and the registration number which it had in Italy is also not allowed to be used.
Not sure what to do next! I've contacted VOSA who are finding out but will also check with the DVLA to see what they say.
I definitely cant register the car in the UK without an MOT and now I'm struggling to get that.
