Well, I'm up North again working on Satan's Rodent since Thursday morning and here's what I've achieved so far.

Fitted and wired up the rear number plate lights.

Fitted the handbrake switch, which was a lot more trouble than you'd think. I don't think the Rat had one before and there was nowhere to put it. I had to modify the handle and mount the switch to the side of it. I had to take the whole handbrake mechanism apart to do it then put it all back together again.

In the engine bay I wired up a relay for the front spotlights and rewired the connector for the oil pressure switch, which was too short after I'd done all the other wiring in the engine bay.

I made up these bulkhead connectors to connect the water hoses from the engine to the Mini heater which is inside the cab. I haven't fitted them yet as I need to get some tools to make the correct sized holes in the bulkhead. They're actually just electrical bulkhead connectors big enough to fit 15mm copper pipe through.

The following two pictures are what I've done with the original Panda heater housing. Basically, I've cut away the matrix/fan part of the heater, removed all the controls and blocked up the resulting openings. This is now just a duct to get air to the windscreen vents. I'll be fitting the screen output hoses from the mini heater to this. It saves completely reworking the screen vent arrangements.

And here we have a slight problem. When moving the Rat around the passenger side inner cv boot developed a split. I've no idea how but this will set me back about half a day.

And finally, I've been doing some work on the interior. I've covered the headlining panel I made last time I was here with grey cloth and made a new dual purpose fitting to hold the rear view mirror/interior light assembly and secure the front of the headlining panel. I made a fitting for this purpose last time I worked on the Rat but I wasn't happy with it so I've done it again and made a better job of it this time. It was probably the help I got from my new furry assistant that did the trick. Awwwwwww.
