Can you begin to imagine what it must have been like to fly those missions?
A couple of years ago they made a TV programme about an experiment to put some current RAF pilots and crew in to a Lancaster and simulate a night time bombing mission.They got lost and missed the target, and that's without the constant threat of being shot down.
God bless those old boys.
