Revving doesnt sound right and lacking a bit of power.

When im revving my car, she doesnt sound right, she just makes an awful noise at around 3000 rpm (and no i dont just sit there and rev her up for no reason) and also, when i set of quick, as soon as i lift the clutch, the revs drop to well past 1000rpm, even if i am revving to about 2500 rpm.

and she really is lacking a little power. sometimes she seems fine, puling great, but no and again it feels like im driving the flinstones car....no pull force. it happened a while back so i put some injector cleaner in and it seemed to have helped, but that was 2 weeks ago and now she seems right back to the usual tricks again.

it might just be me, but iv done a search and all i can come up with is 'HGT Lacking Power' and i need '1.6 Lacking Power'

and thoughts?

when was the last time your car was serviced? and what was done? ie plugs etc etc

well i did it myself when i had the engine swap, i had plugs, plug leads, all 3 belts, tensioners, airfilter, oil filter, oil, petrol filter. i had it all done, it was fine after that lol then again i did get into it after a 1.4 soi anything would seem fine then lol

maybe its the 'boyracer redlining' thing i always do (joking btw)

i would take a look under your bonnet to see if there is anything obvious? could be a few things, how old are your plug leads?

OK you must have had a sense of humour to get this far. Its now gone wrong but here is a technical (ish) guide on the common ailments and what to do about them.

i will have a gander at the weekend, they are same age as the plugs lol about 5 months? maybe 6?

could it be the exhaust? the only reason im asking is because of the weird noise when revving aswell as the fact that its not blowing normal, its puffing rather than blowing lol
