General Reversing Camera Advice

I have a PVC motorhome and would like to install a reversing camera, ideally one that fits into the top brake light.
As l use an Atera cycle rack would I get a clear view behond the rack or would I just get a view of the rack?
I can't find any pictures of what you see on line.
I am not keen on drilling into the van, but may have to.

I use one of these brake light replacement types on a PVC Motorhome (H2 roof) with a Fiamma two bike carrier mounted low. The camera looks fairly steeply downwards, the exact angle can be tweaked by moving the camera body in its holder, a sort of ball and socket arrangement. No drilling needed. I find that although there is some obscuration of the view when the rack is in use, I can still see well enough to back up to walls safely. You could always shin up a stepladder and take a shot with a stills camera at the proposed position.

I was in a similar situation to yourself in not wanting to drill on my last (PVC) van, so i used the brake-light version.

The van was fitted with a swivelling bike-rack at tow-bar level, with just over 0.6m additional protrusion.

The camera ball adjustment needed to be at the very extreme, but I could see enough (just) to safely reverse up to obstacles.

I have to say, however, that having fitted a standard bracketed camera to my current coachbuilt, which involved drilling, the additional clarity and adjustability, a view slightly further out would have suited better, would lead me to do that instead on any future PVC. It was also cheaper.

(I had reason subsequently to drill the PVC for such things as an awning light, and a cheap "cone drill" set from eBay made both drilling and sizing the holes very easy).

Thank you for all replies, I have finally bit the bullet and drilled hole in PVC and fitted a reversing camera.
I can recommend DRW Electronics Kidderminster. The owner could not be more helpful.
It took me 6 hours to fit.
