Technical Reverse light wire

Hi all,

My son owns Grande Punto LHD (I was proud owner for Punto Mk2 and Stilo). Yesterday we installed new dashcam which also has rear camera. I've manged to remove passenger floor panel and get wires for rear camera from front dashboard to boot and through license plate bulb holder to rear camera which has been put above license plate. Everything works fine but rear camera cable has purple wire alongside connector which should be connected to reverse light (positive). Once car has been put into reverse camera will automatically switch to rear view. I'm not to keen to remove whole back bumper so can someone tell me how to find which wire in boot is for reverse light?

Thank you for schematics. By reading them I need white wire to tap into. I just hope rear fog bulb is not using same coloring .

So today I managed to connect reverse camera to reverse light. It was white wire with black stripes. White wire is for rear lights, just in case anyone else will need it.

On a RHD Grande Punto it's part of the loom that runs through the offside rear panel, past rear earthing point C030, behind the boot lip trim, and through a rubber grommet that feeds into the rear bumper. After passing through this grommet the loom splits to serve the reversing light, number plate lights, and rear fog lamp. I've attached 2 photos. The first is taken from inside the boot; to access it you'll need to remove the boot trim that runs across the boot lip and latch. The second shows the rear bumper removed. I didn't quite capture the reversing lamp itself in this photo (as I was working on the rear fog lamp at the time) but it's the wire that routes left from the grommet. I hope that helps.

Yh I did find it thanks, it was in the grommet that goes to the rear bumper like you said, black and white wire it was on this car
