the best thing to do is use a panel from a higher spec model like i did.
i cant remember which model it was but i only had to add one wire to one of the four connector blocks to the ignition coil.

but if you fit a panel from a turbo it'll look daft because most of the new dials and lamps wont work.

just get one which has everything you have now + rev counter, any more and you'll have to add a lot more wires :(

best part, it only takes 20-30 mins to do :)

how exactly did you fit it? like where did you run the wires from the engine to get to the interior?

does tht rev counter look good when its in? got any pic's

cheers

i've got it on the left hand side of my dash, mainly cos my tweeters are on the right. No pics as of yet, will get some eventually if i remember. Will definately have some when ive changed all the colours and installed my cold cathode lighting ;)

I drilled a hole in the dash and run the wires through it, then screwed the pod onto the dash over the hole. Take the bottom of the dash off so you can get to the loom, you cut into the illumination wire from the lights switch. run the coil wire (from rev counter) through the gromet on the far left top (where the rear washer pipe comes through) and splice to to the coil wire, took the positive and ground from my HU (which ive wired up to work all the time).

Thats pretty much about it, job done. (other than puttin the dash back together).

Yea looks ok, it lights up when your lights are on etc. works well. Its only a cheap and cheerful one so dont expect too much from it. i just need it to see what my engines doing cos i have no hope of hearing it :D If you want one that flashes etc at a rev range, you can either make one (maplins do a kit) or but one with it on. They should wire up pretty much all the same :)

No worries

yea mines a 5 door unofortunately ;)

Im in the process of making a shift light changer at the moment too, to aid mine - make it not so cheap and cheerful. Like the f1 cars where the trail of LED's light up from green to red. should fit infront of the dials or might make them light up in a ring around the face of my current tacho.

decisions decisions :D
