General  Retro Fitting A Reversing Camera

I have used this one on my 2011 Fiat 500 312 with Xtrons head unit - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BYMSTXY5 Berlingan brand "Car Reverse Number Plate Light Camera Night Vision Waterproof Parking System Reversing Camera for Fiat 500 Twinair Abarth 500C 595C 695C 312C Linea 500X". In my case I needed the 7301 model but different cars can have different size spaces so be sure to measure up.

Can't remember how I wired it up unfortunately.

Hi
Has anybody retro fitted reversing sensors on a 20141 Fiat 500 ??
Yes, I have. Well, on a 2013 to be precise...
and will add pics as soon as I can get this phone to let me.

The last view shows cable management. I created a small hole for the grommet to feed the wire through.

Thanks for your reply.
Did you have measurements for fitting the sensors or did you just make the distances equal ??
I assume that you picked up a live from the reversing light.
Did you have any problems or was it straight forward.
Please advise
Thanks again
Ian

No measurements, I gauged the two end ones from web photos, then made the three spaces equal. (Use loads of masking tape)

No, I have an Xtrons head unit that has a optional reversing camera (which I also fitted), which happens to have a live for the reversing sensor.
Each of the sensor cables plugged into a small junction box in the rear, and a much longer cable from the rear juction box to the sensors head unit on the top of the dash.

IIRC the cable from the dash readout, plugs into to the juction box in the rear, and the juction box needs to be powered. I took that power from the Xtrons head unit because:
1). The cable was supplied in the kit.
2). I know the lighting currents are monitored by the ECU's and didn't know what current the retro sensors consumed.

I'd have to say no problems and straightforward, but I'm an electronics engineer so I would say that wouldn't I.

Ok thanks for your help
I will give it a go 👍
