Technical Replacing The Stereo with Apple CarPlay

Connects rapidly, has been stable and so far I've experienced no lag etc. I use it for Carplay/Spotify, Waze and Google maps. Very happy so far.

My only gripe so far is that the plug-and-play install cuts power on ignition off, so fader and EQ settings resets every time. Probably fixed by swapping the power lead, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

And my unit cannot be combined with a 2 din frame to mount properly. Can't remember exactly what the trouble was, but I couldn't make it fit (and most importantly fix in place). I'll update this thread when I get more time to look at it.
thank you, i will probably purchase the unit as i have already purchased the cage kit and Fascia panels etc.

Bargain basement option for anyone interested… I just replaced mine last week with the cheapest unit I could find, which was £28 from Aliexpress and has apple/android play, paired with a £6 fascia from Temu and a £2.50 converter from eBay for the aerial to plug in. Works real good now, see you in 6 months 😅

That sounds funky. My unit definitely remembers all the settings even if is disconnected entirely from the dashboard.
