Do you need any extra leads when replacing the standard stereo with a head unit, i have replaced one before but i have forgotten if anymore leads/cables/adaptors are required. In other words can you remove the standard one and plug a new head unit straight in, no messing, no extra bits???

Cheers

nothing extra required :)

so long as your Stereo (that your adding) has an ISO connector (the black bos everything clips to)

Most aftermarket stereos come with anything that you will need to wire it into the car's standard ISO blocks.

Most also come with the aerial adaptor as well just in case.

Sometimes however you end up needing an ISO conversion block (this is usually just to swap the perminant live feed with the switched live feed - the mk2 Punto needs this iirc but as far as I know the Bravo doesnt)

Aye, looks like i will need an aerial adapter, just tried to put it in and the aerial didnt attach. On top of that i bought a surround thingy off ebay and its more twisted than my ex wife, so i think i shall have to pay a bit more and buy a proper one from a proper shop.

And, there didnt seem enough space behind the stereo to push it into as it wouldnt go all the way, i only bought the stereo cheap, i want a new one that plays mp3's, if i get one from halfords they'll fit it for me.

It did actually work, i hooked it up and it turned on, shame i couldnt get it in all the way.

The metal trays often get bent out of shape etc, and are tricky to put back in if they are. There should be no problems with space theres tonnes of it, so have a lok for any wiring etc thats causing an obstruction.
