Hi guys, I'm thinking of replacing the factory speakers in my panda, having never done this before I have a few questions ;) :

What speakers do I replace, just the front ones?
Where are the rear speakers located and is there a subwoofer in the car?
Will I need an adapter like this one? - http://www.dvbcaraudio.co.uk/fiat-panda-front-door-speaker-adapters-free-p-2681.html
Is it easy to wire up? like just a straight swap? Or does it need completely re-wiring?
Will I need to buy a new radio to go with the speakers? If so is this easy to swap?
What size speakers do I need to buy and where can I get them?
I'm looking for nice amount of bass - Can someone recommend me some good speakers that perform?

Sorry for all questions, just wanna be sure before I do anything :D

Cheers!

PS - It's a 2006 1.1 active

But if you still want to change
You wont have to re-wire unless you want to use better quality wiring
You wont need to buy a new radio, but if you do you will need the fascia surroundas they obviously wont be the same shape. Apart from that it should be a straight swap

So all I need is this:

Some speakers + Head unit?

Also how many speakers are in the panda - is it 4 (2 in front and 2 in back) ?

You will you need

Face plate adapter
New head unit
2 front speakers + Tweeters if you want
2 rear speakers + Tweeters if you want

I have these Fusion Components that come with tweeters :

Only problem you will find is that the speakers will stick out further so need to watch you dont kick them while exiting the car

Hi Gary,

How is the bass on these speakers? The main thing I want to get out of this is some nice distortion-free bass ;)
Also, were they easy to fit and with the HU is it just a straight swap?

Cheers

I too want to replace the speakers... I'm happy with the HU (given the remote on the steering wheel, blue tooth, factory look etc), but the speakers are truely awful. they rattle and vibrate and handle 0 bass with any like half decent volume....

Gary, do you have any pics of yours now they're in, you say they stick out further... do they not fit benind the door cars?!? and have you located the tweeters behind the door cars also?

thanks.

rob_g_clarkson, have you read the post i linked earlier? If you set up the HU correctly then you might find the speakers easily adequate

ok, well head unit is straight swap but you will lose the telephone and steering wheel buttons

The reason i have put speakers on outside of door panelling is because of the depth of the speakers

just taken pics for you all

Thanks for the pics, what did you use to fit those speakers, just an adapter? I am very tempted to do this now  Is yours a 100hp? mine doesn't have a telephone or steering wheel buttons (y)

Would someone be kind enough to check this for me?:

Would these fit/work? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...uctId_723485_langId_-1_categoryId_165707#dtab - Also what is the connection on the panda, these speakers are component, would they work?

This head unit - http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-kdc-241sa_p-23055.htm

Adapters:

If I ordered all of these right now would I need anything else to fit them? :)

If I was going through the hassle and expense on changing the head unit I would spend at least £200 on it. You might not improve the sound of the standard unit much with that unit. If you can't afford to spend more than £50 on a new unit I would save a little longer and do the job well. The difference between that unit ( I know its reduced from £100 ) and a £200 one will be a big difference.

Just my opinion ;)

Yeah, that one I linked was just a rough idea, haven't had a proper look for one yet :p
Why is it hassle to change the HU?

Depends if it needs rewiring really.

I'm a complete fool when it comes to installing stereos, so I have to get a proper shop/garage to do it all for me ! So it would cost me a fortune in labour .

If you are able to do it yourself its not hassle I guess.

But changing the speakers looks fiddly from what i've seen, I wouldn't know where to start and if I did I would probably balls it up !:)
