Hi,

Can anyone tell me for certain if you can fit 6" speakers in the front doors, without having to mod the actual door card-i.e. butcher a hole in it/cut a hole in the bottom?

Internal mods are no problem and i can make spacers/adapters easily, i just dont want to make it visible from the inside!

The speakers i intend to fit are Alpine SPS-171A comps. Good choice? The top-mount depth is 2.5" but i cant find the magnet diameter anywhere.

Cheers.

most people will say the 5" comps are all you can get, and, without a bit of angle grinding, that IS all you can get in. though 6.5" IS possible, and one person here screwed them straight into the metal of the door and had no problems...

They will fit, just, without any mods to the door card but you have to use a very thin adapter and mount them a bit higher than the old ones.

we fitted them in my front doors with no adaptors, the screws holes near enough line up with the oe holes anyway.
