With the larger exit, i guess the normal GSR kit will not fit into the new bob ?
Thanks

The GSR kit is an improvement over the standard setup, however IMO it is far from perfect.
A 3inch wide pipe running the full length of your induction kit is way way too big for the airflow of the car. My old alfa v6 had a 3inch induction and we tuned its length to give great power, however that was a 2.5 V6 with 280hp!
Working on half the area of a 3inch pipe, workings shown below....
76mm (3in) pipe has an internal area of 45cm2
50mm (2in) pipe has an internal area of 20cm2
50mm pipe should (again IMO) be run for the majority of the pipework. There will then need to be a taper to go from 76mm (filter) to 50mm (Induction)
Sooooo......
In answer to your question, no the GSR wont fit, but it is costing you potential power anyway. However, the tapered part wil be perfect to go between your filter and the correct size of induction for the car.
Another point on induction that i think is worth mentioning.....
We all know that our prized engines like cold air. Right?
We also know that when air moves faster, it gets colder. Right?
Therefore with an induction system that has half the internal capacity, the air will be travelling at twice the speed. Giving colder, denser air. Right?
This obviously has limitations, so dont try making your induction kit out of cup drink drinking straws!
Dyno results will show the improvement. The other thing to bear in mind is that 50mm silicone pipework is far cheaper and much easier to run. Personally, i will be using aluminium tubes and silicone joiners.
Photos will of course be up as soon as sample has landed!
