Hello

I want to replace my battery on a 1998 1.8 HLX.
Got one from a local motor factor but it was to big (wouldn't fit in battery tray and fouled on pipework). All the other motor factors list the same type of battery (470A 243x175x175)

The battery that is currently in and fits in the tray is a 460A 210x175x175. These are the dimensions of the 1.4 battery but the motor factors only stock these at 360A.

The only battery i could find was a Halfords own calcium battery but this is 90 pounds.

Anyone else had similar problems ? I assume the 360A wouldn't really do the job ?

The last 5 batteries I've bought over the last 4 years, (2 for my cars, 3 others for friends cars) I got from my local GM Vauxhall dealer's parts counter. They've all lasted well, have built-in hydrometers and strong handles and are much cheaper than Hellfrauds/Kwik-Twits e.t.c.
The most recent I bought was last November for my 2.0 litre Marea and cost £37 including VAT.

thats well cheap might go to vauxhall for mine when it carks it

360a is more than enough for you, i have 360a amd i have my system running off it and yeah it will drain it with engine off but it weeks up with the engine on lights on heaters on etc but my lights do dim a fair bit but then again you havent heard my system lol.
