Removing wiper arm

Apart from the obvious nut holding the wiper arm to the car, is there anything else that needs to be undone before the arm will come off?

I've wiggled the arm around a bit but it's no looser than when the nut was in place :p

Cheers!

I found that. That is all that's holding it, but the tension from the spring holding against the window makes it not want to slide off. Try hinging it away from the window and wiggle it free from there?

Tried that and still no joy. I've tried wrapping a belt underneath it and pulling and using wd40 and some gentle taps with a hammer.

Maybe it has rusted on as when I wiggle the arm the bolt moves with it. It's the same with both arms :p

You can get a small puller specially for this (about a couple of quid) from a motor factors. Some times they can be quite awkward to remove without one, but a screwdriver frome each side can usually do the trick

I've recently replaced both front wiper arms and after two days of wasted effort ended up buying a "bearing puller". This did the job in no time and was the only way of removing the old arms.
I'd tried soaking with WD40, prising away with a long scewdriver, gentle persuasion with a hammer....nothing worked, and if you're not careful you may damage the linkage or the trim.
The bearing puller made it easy. I got three sizes for £10 from Motorworld, used the smallest one for the wipers. Ends up cheaper than damaging your car trying to prise off the wipers. I swear mine must have welded themselves to the linkage because you could rock the whole car pulling them and they didn't move a millimetre!
If you live near Nottm you could use my "puller".
If not, buy or borrow one, it's the only sure way.
