HI everyone, I need to remove the cd radio from my fiat 500L 2013 reg, can anyone advise on how to remove it without damaging the the surrounding dash?
I can't find any release devices.

On mine it was quite easy. There is a gap between the trim panel and the 'glass' of the gauges where you can easily grab the panel and pull it off. You dont even need a tool so there is no danger of scratches.

Here you can see where the clips are:

It does come out fairly easily, but I bought a cheap set of plastic removal tools which made it even easier. Look around the panel to the right of the steering column (On R Hand drive cars) and you should find sufficient gaps to get a tool under and pull straight. Once the panel starts to lift, you can then move the tool to different positions, pulling a little at a time until it frees off. If you're careful, it should come off with no marks and all the retaining clips intact. Once the panel is off, you'll see where the radio retaining brackets are screwed to the dash frame, remove these and ease out the radio. Replacement is the reverse of removal, pushing the dash panel squarely back in with the palms of your hands. I replaced my radio with the DAB version, hence my reason for dash removal. Be aware that if you replace your radio, then you'll need to get a reset carried out.(Total mileage recorder will be flashing all the time).

Btw, does anyone know whether one can replace the small UConnect with a Uconnect Nav radio ? And what the Nav would cost as a spare part at Fiat ?

Hi everyone

thanks for the info, hit a new problem now. I need a radio code for the new radio, the one i bought was from a scrapped car so i don't have any paperwork, the radio is already in, can i use the traceability code on it to find the code or does it have to be in serial no?
Its a Fiat 330 VP2 ECE, Continental model, car is cu13 reg fiat 500L.

The fiat dealer won't do it as I don't have the VIN no or the details of the previous owner of the scrapped car.

Any help would be great.

When I changed the radio in my 500L it all worked perfectly straight away,(no code needed), the only slight problem was that the total mileage indicator was flashing, which means a reset is required. You can buy the Multiecuscan software for this on line, and you'll need a suitable connector for the car. If your local franchised dealer won't do the reset, are there any non-franchised Fiat specialists in your area who will do it for you?
Keith.

I've got the serial no for the radio if anyone can help with a code
radio-codes.co.uk does not help as the serial no is longer than 14 digits

The only ways you can get the code for this Continental radio is from a Fiat dealer with ID and proof of ownership of the original vehicle the radio was fitted in.

Or, it will need a specialist radio workshop to read and decode an EPROM inside the radio.

Hi there

Dealer won't do it as the vehicle it came from has been scrapped. Does anyone know someone who can decode it?
