Technical Removing outer seal on rear brake caliper

Evening guys. Can anyone point me at some guidance on how to remove the outer rubber seal / gater which covers the piston on a rear calliper?

I'm changing the discs and pads all round on my boys GP 1.9 and let's just say due to a lack of communication, we popped a piston out of one caliper whilst bleeding another!

I assume because you can buy new seals, this outer seal comes out but short of completely wrecking it, I cannot see how it can actually be removed. And I need to remove it to pass the piston back through the seal and back into caliper cylinder.

Any help really appreciated... before I start heading towards getting another caliper.

Check youtube for a guide on refurbishing a rear calliper.

All parts in a calliper are removeable so you will find a video on that... luckily when i did my rears i just cleaned then out with an air line under the seal and also blew the piston out slightly with airline to check for leaks... then lubed it a little under the rubber boot all like new again (luckily it was already in good condition).

In short: you can't. it's a one time only piece of rubber. just buy a repair kit ~3-5 gbp.
it is also probably old rotted rubber... so just get a new one.

Thanks for the tip. Rubbers are all in good condition so found a way (on YouTube) using 4 pieces of 3mm garden wire to prize open the seal enough to pop the piston back in - phew! All greased up and ready for refit when the light returns!
