Technical Removing Dash Panel

I have a rattle behind the body coloured section of my dash, sounds like a wire touching on the back face.

Now I don't trust the dealer to do this as they will alsmost certainly damage something, so I wondered if anybody knew how to remove the dash panel?????

According to some of the info on the Abarthisti website, the dash panel should pop out reasonably easily. It seems that several Abarth owners have removed theirs to have them wrapped. I don't have any personal experience of removing the panel though.

Is your rattle coming from around the stereo head unit? if so i have the exact same thing thats driving me nuts, sounds like a clicking sort of noise, dealer adjusted head unit but its still there.

I asked this question a while ago and someone said to pull the heater control surround out then undo the screws located underneath the coloured panel I'm a bit scared to do it tho! I'll see if i can find the post.

found it,here you go

1..pull heater control unit away exposeing 2 torx
2..remove torx
3..remove 2 torx under dash either side of glove box
4..pull away facia and bobs ur uncle

i have a similar situation. but it seems to be coming from inside of passenger door, but when someone is sitting there he/she claims that it comes from somewhere near rearview mirror. i think sound bounces inside the car and confuses me. i had it checked out at last periodic service but they found nothing. it usually appear once a week and disappear until i have time to take it to dealer. :) i think it disappears when i take a fast turn, when some g force applied on it. sound is more clear while travelling on a bouncy road, i'm afraid someday i'm gonna crash the car trying to figure out where it's coming from. :D

So does the heater control panel just pull off?
I presume the knobs are push fit then, what about the AC switch?
Thanks

Mark, saw this one on ebay to give some idea as to the screw fittings behind heater.
