Anyone got any tips for removing the blade from the remote fob?

You need to take out the small round fiat cap on the back of the key fob, so you could split the key fob casing in two. Then I think you could just pull out the blade. Got to be very carefull when detaching the fiat cap so you don't damage it. Also when you open the key fob, do it on the table so you can't drop it or something like that. Inside contains a fragile transmitter that comunicates with the car computer sending the key code so you can start your car. If you damage it the key will become useless.

Good luck

easy:
1) remove battery and its case
2) remove fiat badge and undo screw under it
3) fold out key blade (as you would to start the car)
3) starting at the top (blade hinge) prise the case into 2 halves (no need for tools)
4a) while doing 3 hold down key blade in place
4b) just catch tensioned spring

blade can be used on its own (really good if you are going for a swim and don't wish to leave the key.. or as a spare etc) chip has to be really close to barrel (if you will use these separately) but only when you turn the blade to 'on'/'mil' after that chip is not needed (don't put the chip in metal casing.. it won't work). PS: chip is help in place by a plastic catch and appears to be in a glass enclosure (don’t use a metal screwdriver to get it out..)

If you only want to remove the blade, it's just possible to get it out without dismantling the plastic covers. The blade is held in with a small roll-pin. Open the blade to 90° and use a small drift to knock the roll-pin out. The blade will then pull out of it's metal holder. There are 2 types of blade depending on which remote control you have.

Dave.
